Who Will Be In

Said To Be Wanted By Devils

DEFENCE

Ryan Shawcross (Stoke City)
No nonsense defender who been the pillar of Stoke defense. Tough tackling and read the game very well. Man United sold Shawcross to Stoke for an initial £1 million in 2008 but still have a buy-back option which allows them first refusal if any rival clubs make a bid. Sir Alex Ferguson has made no secret of the fact that he regretted selling the former Old Trafford trainee and could move to bring him back in the summer, with doubts over the long-term fitness of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic. Though there are Phil Jones and Chris Smalling waiting in the wing plus Jonny Evans, Man United still need atleast one established defender.

Mats Hummels (Borussia Dortmund)
A report claimed that Borussia Dortmund centre-back Mats Hummels is pushing for a move to Man United. Hummels has been the mainstay of Jurgen Klopp’s back-line for the past three seasons and the former Bayern Munich man has helped the Westfalenstadion side to back to back Bundesliga titles.  His contract will only end in 2017 but that will not deter Man United to sign the defender that been valued with £21 million.

Diego Lugano (PSG)
Man United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has reportedly taken an interest in PSG defender Diego Lugano as he looks to beef up his leaky defence, alerted by the fact that the unhappy Uruguayan is openly courting a move away from the Parc des Princes. The 31 year old centre-back was brought in by Carlo Ancelotti in the summer of 2011 but has struggled to force his way into the PSG starting eleven but is nonetheless a player Ferguson admires. The Old Trafford boss will monitor the former Fenerbahce defender’s position with a view to a possible bid for the determined veteran.

MIDFIELD

Kevin Strootman (PSV Eindhoven)
Dutch source Soccernews.nl claim that Man United are closing on PSV Eindhoven midfielder Kevin Strootman and that such a deal is close to completion, so much so that the Eredivisie side has already identified Swedish international Oscar Hiljemark as a replacement for the Dutch youngster.
This source claims that Man United are lining up a €17m (£14m) bid for the 22 year old rangy midfielder.

Wilfried Zaha(Crystal Palace)
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to launch a bid to sign Crystal Palace sensation Wilfried Zaha with an offer that will blow away any other interested clubs. Ferguson decided to enter the race to England's newest star when he received the recommendation from his son Darren, after Zaha ripped his Peterborough side apart.  At the wings Man United had Giggs, Nani & Young for the left  while Valencia at right. Giggs will retire soon while Nani set to be sold. So for future Zaha is good addition.

Tom Ince (Blackpool)
Manchester United have stepped up their interest in Blackpool’s highly-rated midfielder Tom Ince. Sir Alex Ferguson has ordered his scouts to keep tabs on the midfielder, who could follow in his dad Paul's footsteps and join the Old Trafford side. Also play as left winger.

The England Under 21 international has been a revelation at Blackpool since joining from Liverpool last year. He is an attacking midfielder but also can play as left winger.

James Rodriguez (Porto)
James David Rodríguez Rubio is a Colombian footballer who plays for Portuguese team Porto. Talented and considered to be the successor of Carlos Valderrama, he's been nicknamed 'el nuevo pibe' and a 'South American' Cristiano Ronaldo. Played as a striker and also as left winger.
