Proof Man United DON'T get more pen decisions than any other
club
27 March 2012
Between 1993 and 2004 just three penalties were awarded
against Manchester United at Old Trafford, leading to accusations that referees
were scared to give spot-kicks against Sir Alex Ferguson's team.
Most recently, when Fulham's Danny Murphy was fouled by
Michael Carrick in the box in the 87th minute of Man United's home match with
the Cottagers, it seemed certain that referee Michael Oliver would give the
visitors a chance to equalise from the spot. Instead, he waved away appeals and
United went on to clinch what could be a crucial three points in the title
race.
So, do Man United really benefit from favourable penalty
decisions at Old Trafford? Take a look at the gallery above to find out which
clubs have conceded the most and the least penalties in recent Premier League
seasons (up to 27 March 2012, going back to August 2006 and only including
clubs that have played each of those seasons in the top flight).

Hmmmm so what did you say Mr Jol. Ooo the referee was not brave enough to award penalty against Man United. Very ironic.
