Crazy World: Denied a touchphone,
boy kills self
5 March 2012
INDIA: Peer pressure turned fatal
for a 11-year-old in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
A boy committed suicide because
his parents refused to buy him a touchscreen mobile phone.
The boy's friend had recently
acquired an expensive touch phone and had brought it to school to show it off
among friends.
The boy wanted one of those
expensive gadgets as well. When he demanded that his parents buy him a
touchphone, his mother told him that he would never get one.
Upset over being denied a
touchphone, the grade seven student went inside his room and hung himself from
the fan using one of his mother's saris.
